The opalescent trocus shell bracelets are from the Yapen island in Papua New Guinea. There are 7 and 6 rings of the highly prized shell in the bracelets, bound by plaited trips of red cotton fabric. Red cotton is admired for its color. The incised markings on each ring add a striking graphic layer to the bracelets.
