Barasaurus besairiei reptile fossil, positive and negative from Madagascar

• Size: Barasaurus 21.5 cm
• Size: 23 x 14 cm each
• Weight: 2,306 gram total
• Complete Barasaurus with the head preserved are very rare. Here is a beautifull, all natural and unrestored specimen with preserved gastoliths. Only restoration is the rock has been glued together but nothing on the fossil.
• Gastoliths are grinding stones which are often found in the stomachs of these animals.
• Barasaurus besariei was first described in 1955 and classified as a fully distinct species in 2004. 
• They were predominantly terrestrial reptiles and probably ate mostly insects and craustaceans.
